The following photos were self-edited by each photographer as potential images for our Continuity/An Air of Detachment double issue pdf, but ultimately every two-photo spread was selected using a different pair of photos shot for these themes…

Also, a little more on what we term outtakes: these are not necessarily inferior photos to the ones we choose for zine publication, but there are often other factors at work. Given the pairing of photos, there are times when another pair seems to be a better fit, or another duo seems more apt for the specific theme, or varied other potential reasons that the outtakes become also-rans. It’s all a bit subjective, but interesting as part of the process.
